Patrick Deane

Senior Counsel and Head of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, Nestlé, Vevey. Patrick Deane is former Chair of IMI (2010-2011).

Patrick is a Senior Counsel and Head of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Nestlé Legal Department based at Nestlé’s international headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland.

He is an Australian citizen and a qualified attorney with extensive international experience both in cross border transactions and disputes. He has completed a number of international assignments including in Australia, Switzerland, the UK and France.

Patrick is an Accredited Mediator and is an advocate of the use of mediation as an effective tool for resolving commercial disputes and the application of mediation techniques to resolve deadlock and conflict in difficult negotiations. He has spoken on ADR topics (and Nestlé’s support for mediation as a key ADR tool) at a number of events and conferences including at WIPO in Geneva, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, the International Bar Association and the International Association of Young Lawyers. In November 2009 Patrick was a panel speaker at the CEDR Conference on Settlement in Arbitration.
