Next Steps

2015-2016 Global Pound Conference Series

After the conference in Florence, IMI will focus on the Global Pound Conference Series 2015-2016.

The GPC Series is designed to take the lead in improving access to justice around the world by generating actionable data from all stakeholders in the dispute prevention and resolution fields to facilitative greater access to appropriate dispute resolution (“ADR”) processes worldwide.

A great deal of interest and enthusiasm was generated in October 2014 at the Convention on Shaping the Future of International Dispute Resolution, held at the London Guildhall. The convention was the first in a planned series of Global Pound Conferences to be held in multiple locations across the globe in 2015 and 2016, based on the original concept and legacy of the Pound Conference, which took place in St Paul, NM, USA in April 1976.

The London convention saw 150 delegates, from many stakeholder groups more than 20 countries, use individual voting and interactive technology to express their views on a number of key issues. The data that this convention generated suggested that several gaps may exist between what disputants need and what is offered by various players involved in the supply side of the market, such as advisors, provider bodies, mediators, arbitrators, adjudicators, educators and policy makers.

Regional GPC conferences are planned for Australasia, Asia, Europe, the African Sub-Continent, Latin America, the Middle East and North America.

We invite sponsors and partners and you can find more information in the Global Pound Conference prospectus, published on the IMI Portal at: https://imimediation.org/global-pound-conference
