My motivation and drive to become a mediator was fueled mainly by the rigorous and stringent procedure of litigation. This motivation was furthermore engineered by my love for peace and coexistence between parties as litigation mostly ends with creating life long enemies.Â
I currently work as a training officer in a top mediation organisation in Nigeria; Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.Â
The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) is the professional body of practitioners in Nigeria with mandate to regulate the practice of Mediation in Nigeria and train prospective candidates, as well as encourage organizations and institutions to adopt Mediation and Conciliation as the primary mechanisms for addressing disputes.
My position includes planning and organizing training for intending mediators across different states and also engaging in several mediation trials.
I have been engaged in Mediation while still working in a law office; Domian Chamber where we engaged in both litigation and mediation before delving fully into mediation.
As a Training Officer with The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, in collaboration with the Intractable Dispute Mediators (IDM) and the Dispute Resolution Centre of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DRC ACCI), I have engaged in training of both members and non-members of the Institute in the following continuing professional education courses:
