The unprecedented rise and nature of conflict and violence in societies across the world today, has made it imperative that mediation becomes the primary resort to institution of peace. It is based on the above, that I strongly wish to advocate for membership into this prestigious organization where I could be further mentored and networked with other young mediators to contribute our skills to bettering the nature of our society, thereby making it essentially habitable.
I am a Lecturer in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where I have spent three years, in teaching and research. My interests are in the areas of Negotiation and Mediation. I possess degrees in Political Science, with bias in International Relations and currently concluding my Ph.D in Political Science with research in Islamic Fundamentalism.
I am a University Lecturer, teaching Peace and Conflict Studies. I have not garnered any mediation experience outside the teaching environment, being the reason for this application.
I was in December 2018, inducted into the Institute of chartered Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria, as an Associate Member. This is after I had been certified through practical courses and role plays organized by the Association in July 2018.
