Five mediation participants reflected on Claudia Grosman skills in mediation. Parties emphasize Claudia’s quality of contact, her capacity to act naturally with fairness, her respect of the parties and their lawyers and her genuine interest in helping them. They mention her extreme care to be guardian of the process as well as an impressive expertise in planning and preparing for the mediation sessions. Parties appreciate the techniques she uses in mediation, in particular empathic listening and questioning. She is seen as a skilled mediator who inspires parties, gives credibility to the mediation process and makes people become confident in the possibility of a settlement through negotiation, which actually becomes true in more than 70% of the cases she handles. Claudia is also described as patient, very attentive to details and knowing how to adapt her approach to the context she faces in the mediation room. She has the ability to simultaneously be fully present in order to grasp what is happening but also to distance herself from the situation to offer a more conscious view of the choices being made. She always checks if parties are comfortable with the deal they are making. In all cases, clients said they would use Claudia ’s services again and would recommend her to others.
