Mediation Profile

Mr Müller is a German and European patent and trade mark attorney and mediator. He was born in April 14 1969. He holds a Master Degree in electrical engineering (Dipl-Ing), having graduated in 1994 at the Technical University of Munich (TU Munich). At the Department of Automatic Control, Lund University, Sweden he has delivered a thesis on adaptive control and intelligent systems. From 1995 to 1997 he undertook law studies for patent attorneys at the University of Hagen, Germany. From 1990 to 1994 he undertook studies at the Technical University of Munich, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich and the Lund Institute of Technology, Sweden. In 1991 he was awarded a scholarship by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Bonn. From 1989 to 1992 he was a business consultant at Andersen Consulting, Germany, and had various traineeships at Siemens AG, Germany. In 1993 he received training at the US-patent law firm Hopgood Calimafde in New York. From 1994 to 1997 he underwent a traineeship with the patent law firm Müller, Schupfner & Gauger and with the District Court of Düsseldorf. From 1997 to 1998 he had a traineeship at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Federal Patent Court in Munich, completed with the German Patent Attorneys’ Examination. In 1998 he was a patent consultant at the Swiss Patent Department of Siemens AG, formerly Landis & Gyr AG. In 1999 he was admitted as European Patent Attorney. Since then he has been a partner of Müller, Schupfner & Gauger, now Müller Schupfner & Partner. From 2002 to 2003 he undertook mediation studies at the University of Hagen. Mr Müller has extensive experience in the areas of automatic control and intelligent systems, information technology, telecommunication, semiconductor technology, packaging technology, metal alloys, construction technology, electronic systems and integrated circuits, machinery, ultrasonic technology, software; design, utility models, trade marks and mediation.

Mr. Müller has been handling mediations since 2003 (about 1-2 / year). No mediations were handled 2008. He has an intensive experience in patent and trademark litigation as counsel, on a global level.
