Feedback digest by Joanne Holland, 17 Jul 2018 This Feedback Digest is based on 30 feedbacks in 20 mediations, initially submitted on Thursday January 9, 2014. The Mediations related to a variety of issues, including workplace, community, cultural diversity and international matters. In all cases the clients (whether they be the parties, council or Union representatives) highly praised Mr. Brown and rated him at the highest level (5) for his skills, professionalism, abilities and competency in facilitating the mediation. 8 clients specifically mentioned that Kevin had an innate ability to keep the parties focused on the matter at hand; 5 clients stressed that Kevin maintained confidentially regarding sensitive matters and 7 clients wrote that Kevin helped both parties look to the future instead of dwelling on the past. Many clients reported that Kevin’s relaxed, forthright and open manner greatly helped them build trust with the mediator and the mediation process and stressed that Kevin had the ability to find common ground between the parties even when the parties appeared to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. Typical comments made by the clients included; ‘Kevin brought us together and for the first time and I actually listened to the other (party)’. ‘Going in, I wanted to win yet during the premediations I came to realize that we could both win’. ‘This was my first mediation, I was hesitant but now I am a believer and will use Kevin again’. Some of Kevin’s additional strengths that were listed on the feedback sheets included; empathy, great listener, honest and open communication, sensitivity to cultural diversity and great questioning skills. The majority of clients report that they were recommended to use Kevin as their mediator should future conflicts arise. Fees were widely reported as reasonable and a very high degree of satisfaction was reported. No reportable negative comments have arisen.
