He enjoys a background in Conflict management from Maastricht University (Faculty of Law) in the Netherlands. Furthermore he is an alumnus of the U.N. / INCORE International School in Ulster, Northern Ireland.
As Dutch-qualified Mediator with over 20 years of commercial experience, legal adviser, facilitator and coach and trainer. He is a member of the NMI, the Dutch Mediation Institute and of course of the International Mediation Institute (IMI).

Leonard has practiced mediation since 1995 with excellent ratings over several years. For the last 20 years he has carried out a lot of mediations and several projects in which he facilitated transformation processes and consensus building in Africa. E.g. he mediated successfully between Somalia and Somali Land on maritime issues.

Leonard was consultant for the Kenyan Peace Network and the National Cohesion & Integration Commission in Kenya. He trained on mediation in Mogadishu for inter alia UN, EU, IGAD etcetera. Furthermore he worked as a lecturer for the Centre of Legal Studies in Malawi and for the Faculty of Law of Tilburg University. He is an excellent lecturer, who has the ability to inspire students.
