This Feedback Digest is based on 10 feedback in 10 mediations, initially submitted in November 2010. The power of positive feedback is clearly exhibited in the 10 feedback forms submitted by Ms. Mary Margaret Biedermann. Every individual stated they would use Ms. Biedermann’s services again and that they would recommend her to others. However, the skills that were highlighted brought together a clear picture of a consummate professional who strategizes extremely well, navigates the mediation process seamlessly without dominating the parties and creates a creative forum while earning trust and developing rapport. One party appreciated the fact that Ms. Biedermann went well beyond the time allotted for the mediation and continued to engage the parties while remaining confident that the strongly held values of the parties would come to the fore with her diligence, persistence and support. Some of the characteristics that dominated the feedback forms were Ms. Biedermann’s thoroughness, her confidence, positive attitude and calm throughout the emotional minefield the parties experienced that were key to reaching resolution. This foundation allowed her to analyze technical problems, separate issues, and assist the parties to assess their non-settlement alternatives.
