Maureen is Principal of Maureen Inglis Consulting, a management consultancy focusing on mediation, coaching, facilitating problem solving processes and training. She has also worked in the areas of critical incident (trauma), counselling, change management and Human Resource Development. Maureen has a particular interest in intercultural situations and has Intercultural Designation.
Maureen has had more than 20 years experience mediating, coaching and facilitating problem solving processes in organisations ranging from large corporations through to small business, government (Federal, State and Local), not-for-profit and community. She works with a full range of people from CEOs and Executives through to weekly paid 'blue collar' staff.
Maureen also works as an Associate Consultant for National and International firms.
Recent experience for Maureen has been working with an international team conducting dialogue and skills transformation workshops about Building Unity for Peaceful Elections in Sierra Leone, as well as conducting interviews and focus groups gathering updated information towards an ongoing needs analysis. This has resulted in a further trip facilitating intensive leadership training workshops for women and youth of Sierra Leone. She has also trained at Brawijaya University, East Java facilitating mediation and dialogue workshops.Through her involvement with Mediators Beyond Borders International, she has had the opportunity to meet and work with great mediators and peace builders around the world.
The focus of Maureen's style is facilitative and solution focused with a strong emphasis on pre-mediation assessment, preparation and coaching. She believes solutions are within the capacity of individuals and her role is to draw that out from people. The outcome of this approach when agreements are made, leads to sustainable solutions. Maureen has a natural ability to connect to and work with a diversity of people and in a diversity of situations. She has a strong interest in intercultural mediation.
Maureen believes that active and patient listening, open-mindedness, respecting parties' cultures, professional demeanour and self-control are the golden rules for every successful peace process.Â

While main practice areas have been workplace mediation, civil court and return to work following injury, she has also worked with community, volunteer and not-for-profit organisations. Maureen provides customised needs-based sustainable solutions by means of mediation, coaching, training and facilitation. Maureen is a coach with the Resolution Institute supporting training of new mediators. She is passionate about peace building and intercultural processes.
