Parties and counsel who have used Philip Cottone would overwhelmingly use his services again and would, without hesitation, recommend him to others. Typical of the comments reflecting Mr. Cottone’s acceptability are: (i) Mr. Cottone is highly regarded in all law fields as a man of integrity, honesty and patience. In short, he has the qualities any successful mediator should hope to possess; (ii) He is professional and effective; (iii) Mr. Cottone did a terrific job; and (iv) I was impressed by his preparation and understanding of the issues. He is a complete professional. Mr. Cottone’s mediation skills and abilities are rated as highly effective. Typical of feedback received in this regard are: (i) Mr. Cottone had the ability to understand the issues and carve out the unimportant facts that were acting as impediments to settlement; (ii) Mr. Cottone has always demonstrated an acute understanding of the issues between the parties, both emotional and practical, and conducted himself in a professional manner; (iii) He showed great patience, persistence and perception; (iv) Mr. Cottone is very practical, engenders confidence by all parties, is very knowledgeable and trustworthy, and gets the job done; (v) He had the ability to understand the substantive issues, and the ability to communicate the perception of these issues and the facts to the parties; and (vi) His perseverance and logic prevailed on all parties. Costs were widely reported as reasonable in the context of the value of the disputes mediated by Mr. Cottone, and in general a very high degree of satisfaction was reported.
