With a Specialized B.A. in Psychology and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from York University, Rita Czarny is Reality Therapy Certified, trained in Transformative Justice and has more than twenty five years experience in the field of human relationships. She is a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. Rita is also a Chartered Mediator. She developed and taught the Family Mediation Certificate in French, at Glendon College/York University. She coaches student mediators. In her private practice, “2mindfulmediators”, she co-mediates and co-presents with her partner Samy Czarny. Rita is certified with the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Her family practice, as an Accredited Family Mediator (OAFM) includes comprehensive separation and divorce, parent and teen disputes, and extended family disputes. She is a reflective and empathic mediator. Rita is an avid Toastmaster and finds joy in helping people find their voice. She is skilled in Restorative Circles [RC]. She loves the dynamic of circles to hold conversations for large communities, in the workplace and among extended families. Rita is skilled in hearing people the way they want to be heard, and helping them express and hear others meaningfully. After a circle, people often have a new appreciation for each other. She holds vibrant workshops where one can explore delicate communications in a playful way. As an aside, Rita is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader. She integrates Laughter in her live to deal with everyday stress and to ground herself as a mediator.
