Mediation Profile

Rob joined the Bournemouth offices of Horsey Lightly Fynn in May 2005. He has practised law since 1984. He specialises in dispute resolution through mediation, litigation and arbitration, with particular emphasis on asset recovery and motor vehicle claims, contractual disputes (including construction), insurance and claims involving allegations of professional negligence (which he has prosecuted on behalf of commercial and private clients and defended on behalf of their insurers, reinsurers and Lloyd's syndicates). Rob has successfully completed training as a mediator under the ADR Chambers / Harvard Law Project Scheme. He is a Member of the Civil Mediation Council and a Member of the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates.

Rob has represented clients in between 25 and 50 mediations and has been appointed as mediator in more than 40 disputes. He successfully completed training as a mediator in 2006 and has been accredited by ADR Chambers UK. His early mediation experience included pro bono work for the HM Courts Service at court centres in Dorset.

Rob is committed to mediation and has been involved with many mediations, both as mediator and as a representative for participants. His style is a mix of listening, asking (tough) questions, diplomacy and reality testing. He's interested, flexible, and pragmatic. He cares. He offers a common sense, realistic approach to assist the parties in searching for solutions to their disputes and brings straight talking and integrity to his mediation work.
