Parties and counsel who have used Robert Morrill would overwhelmingly use his services again and would, without hesitation, recommend him to others. Typical of the comments reflecting Mr. Morrill’s acceptability are: (i) Mr. Morrill’s patent law experience serves him well in patent-related mediations; (ii) There is no substitute for the long experience of the type Mr. Morrill has in resolving intellectual property disputes; (iii) I have Mr. Morrill on top of my list of mediators, especially for difficult intellectual property matters; and (iv) I was appreciative of his flexibility and willingness to intercede, which helped resolve the matter. Mr. Morrill’s mediation skills and abilities are rated as highly effective. Typical of feedback received in this regard are: (i) Mr. Morrill’s preparation for our session and skill at bring the parties to a resolution was superb; (ii) He is calm, but authoritative presence; knew his stuff; (iii) Mr. Morrill’s patent law experience serves him well in patent-related mediations; and (v) I have recommended and will continue to recommend Mr. Morrill to my law partners and other bar colleagues. His preparation for our session and skill at bringing the parties – who had been in conflict for over a decade – to a resolution was superb. Mr. Morrill is also highly regarded for his ability to effect a positive outcome. For example, one provider of feedback noted that Mr. Morrill was especially skillful at perceiving the impediments to settlement/resolution in their copyright infringement case. His expertise and experience with intellectual property matters provided him with an immediate understanding of the range of damages and remedies authorized by statute as well as the defenses and the strengths and weaknesses of each party’s case. Costs were generally reported as reasonable in the context of the value of the disputes mediated by Mr. Morrill, and several reported a high degree of satisfaction. No reportable negative comments have been received since Mr. Morrill’s designation as an IMI Certified Mediator.
