As unbiased third-party conducted daily hearings to make individuals, groups and companies involved in a conflict come to an agreement. Listened to the parties, reviewed the evidence, help the parties come to understand each other´s viewpoint regarding the controversy, and then facilitated the negotiation of a voluntary resolution of the case or the controversy.  Prepared agreements. Reviewed motions. Discussed cases with judges and the Alternative Resolution Dispute Director. Mediations are appointed by the court and by the parties involved.

Arbitrator (Hearing Officer), December 2007-2012.Conducted around 30 unemployment compensation hearings per week. The purpose of the hearing is to decide whether unemployment benefits should be granted or denied. Provided legal advice to the parties. Directed and cross examined witnesses at hearings. Prepared resolutions daily. Review issues related to work environment as Safety, Health, Discrimination, Harassment, Absences, among others. Conducted legal research in Labor Law, Administrative Law and Evidence Law. I was required to visit all the unemployment offices in Puerto Rico.
