I am a registered lawyer with academic and work experience in both common law and civil law countries. I have experienced both types of legal system, but nothing comes close to mediation.
I am currently working as a Legal Manager (heading the Legal Department) and would like to project my self as someone who is good at resolving disputes and understanding the importance of maintaining a business relationship.Â
The YMI recognization will give me the necessary motivation to keep looking at dispute from a resolution perspective rather than adjudication perspective and ensure the most significant benefit to my company. It will also help me in getting in touch with young professionals.
I am a common law qualified, first-generation lawyer and graduated with First-Class Honours degree (2:1 Equivalent) with a focus on domestic and international arbitration, commercial contract drafting and business and commercial law. On graduation, I was awarded the 'Distinguished Alumni' award for academic and extra-curricular activities.
I attended Tsinghua University (China) as Semester Exchange Students to study international arbitration and took LLM Level courses - scoring 7.8/8.0 CGPA. I was also selected to attend a fully-funded specialised leadership and entrepreneurship course offered by Harvard Business School in 2017.
I have excellent transferable communication and negotiation, drafting and research skills. Additionally, I have experience of working in India, UAE and China, and received academic training in both common and civil law jurisdiction (India and China, respectively). I am also the recipient of various scholarships during high school and under-graduation, including a Harvard Scholarship to attend Emerging Leaders Program (2017) in Dubai, which helped me to improve my commercial understanding.
I am a Member (MCIArb) at Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb, U.K.) and Dispute Resolution Panelist at FICM-MCN (India and UAE).
