Mediation Profile

I am expected to be part of the Worldwide Mentorship Programme.  I believe that attending this program can assist me in pursuing Worldwide Mentorship Programme’s mission and vision and extend my network in this field. I can share and keep them posted about general information on the laws and mediation practice of Vietnam. This program definitely helps to extend and improve my knowledge and experiences in learning international forums. In addition, being exposed to the outside world to international legal experiences will help me to thrive on a professional career path over the long run.

All in all, my aim is to promote Worldwide Mentorship Programme by employing my legal experiences and knowledge gained when attending Worldwide Mentorship Programme. From there, I will support and assist Worldwide Mentorship Programme’s work and issues related to Vietnam by actively participating in working groups which help Worldwide Mentorship Programme to provide recommendations and research to Vietnamese Government and present Worldwide Mentorship Programme to young mediators in Vietnam.

I am strongly motivated to apply for this program for a number of reasons:

First, attending CEDR Mediator Skill Training in December 2018 in Vietnam inspired me to join this program. I did not know about this event before. I had happened to register this program through Vietnam Business Lawyer Club (VBLC). Nevertheless, I was fortunate to join this program and found it so productive to my career development. Thanks to this extensive training, I have enhanced my mediation skills and connect with experienced practitioners in this field.

Second, I have been experiencing and involving cross-border disputes. I have represented international and domestic clients to handle three cross-border disputes at Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and a number of disputes at Vietnam competent courts. I wish to get more involved in cross-border disputes and learn more about international mediation skills and practice.

Third, my knowledge and experience in the ASEAN is so extensive. I was admitted to the two-year master’s program in law at Trans-national Law and Business University (TLBU) - Graduate School of Law in Seoul, South Korea, consisting of ASEAN and Chinese law students. TLBU classmates and fellow students are practicing law in their own jurisdiction. In addition, I acquired adequate knowledge to understand and work with multinational lawyers when working for ZICO law, an ASEAN law firm. As partner of DIMAC law firm, I am certain that my mediation practice will improve substantially as to deal with different types of disputes.

Finally, I have been increasingly exposed to international forum and publications. When I was at TLBU, I visited and sighted international organizations (WTO, ILO, ICJ, WIPO, and EU) and attended conferences and dialogues held at these organizations during my field study in Europe. My professional networking in the Pacific region was extended by attending Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) 2015 Hong Kong and international Bar association (IBA) 2017 Sydney as a Scholar and Young Lawyer. In actively engaging in public publications for legal professionals, I wrote about International Public Procurement (Vietnam) published in 2014 by Center for International Legal Studies and Westlaw and Legal update on Vietnam Real Estate Market on IPBA Journal (September 2016).
