Feedback digest by Carlo Mosca, 19 Mar 2018 This Feedback Digest is based on 10 feedback in 8 mediations, initially submitted on Tuesday 4th July 2017.

This feedback is based on -
- 10 feedback sheets produced by participants (clients, counsel, observers) in cases actually mediated by Vanessa (June 2015 through October 2016);
- the material (a video, showing a performance as mediator + self-evaluation) Vanessa submitted for her successful accreditation as Transformative Mediator at the beginning of 2017
- a series of mock mediations Vanessa has taken part to, in the course of various training events;
- my personal knowledge of Vanessa as a delegate in a dozen of courses (either basic training, and refreshment courses) since 2004.

Vanessa is a lawyer practicing in Italy, mainly in commercial and family sector.
As a mediator, she has received the first initiation in the problem-solving framework (she attended one of the Italian editions of the CEDR’s MSTs - 2004), then turned to the transformative one (she attended a basic training in Milan – 2012 with J Folger).

She has been practicing as a mediator since 2004. Her operating language is Italian, although she can understand English.
Vanessa, as the majority of mediators in Italy, is referred cases through a handful of mediation centers. She’s qualified to act as mediator with the Italian Ministry of Justice (a requirement set for mediators operating under decree no. 28/2010, i.e. the main national frame regulations) in re matter).

Vanessa has demonstrated an extensive possess of the theoretical premises of the transformative model, that she applies now on her cases, irrespective of the issues at stake. I understand that the cases she has dealt with, fall in a fairly extended range: from separation and divorce to typical commercial issues; real property; claims for accident damages; inheritance).
Vanessa’s strength lays certainly in her ability to create a productive environment for parties’ deliberations and to enhance their decision-making process. She is a very good listener, gentle in manners and showing great respect of the party self-determination. She is at ease also in high conflict talk situation.
Her approach results very appreciated by the parties involved in her mediations, and often determines a positive outcome of the mediation, as reported in the evaluation sheets (the interviewed answered almost invariably YES to a range of 9 standard questions relating to the possibility they have been offered by the mediator to have ‘voice & choice’ in the session).
