Mediation Profile

I believe that mediation will become an increasingly important way of resolving conflicts today and in the future. This is all the more true for trans-border conflicts within the European Union where there is free movement of people, goods and capitals. It is normal  this free movement to create more interactions between individuals and legal entities within the Union. More interactions mean more conflicts, and therefore - greater demand for mediators. That is why I think the Mediation is one of the professions of the future, which shall survive after Industry 4.0 ends.
For me, it is important that one of the goals of the mediation process is to de-escalate a particular conflict, reduce tensions between the participants. As a practicing lawyer, I know, that the judicial resolution (and even an arbitration) of a dispute does not take into account whether tensions between the parties are increasing or decreasing in the course of the resolution. Thus, this tension is passed on to all participants in the litigation, including defenders. To be under such tension, which more often escalates, is an unpleasant sensation. That is why I very much like the idea that one of the goals of mediation is to reduce the tensions between the parties. This idea brings a positive charge.
As a profession, mediation is something the mediator can do in any country as long as he/she meets the relevant requirements. I like this flexibility, which mediation provides, because it gives freedom.
