Yasmin is a self-employed Conflict Resolution Advisor, Mediator and Conflict Management Coach. She previously contracted as Operations Manager/Mediator for the Conflict Resolution Centre (CRC) in Galway, Ireland. She is also a board member for the NRM Network, Ireland, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of best practice among mediators and the advancement of mediation education to the public. Yasmin has over 20 years of commercial experience. Her business experience combined with an educational background in counselling psychology gives her a unique understanding of the dynamics and components of personal and interpersonal conflict. Yasmin is passionate about raising public awareness of the benefits of mediation and the encouragement of community access to mediation services in Ireland at grass roots level.
Yasmin qualified as a certified practitioner mediator in 2012. Since then she has undertaken specific training in family mediation and workplace conflict investigation. She has also trained in Conflict Management Coaching that is particularly suited to single party concerns and for those looking for a clearer understanding of their situation when considering mediation.Â
Yasmin has mediated cases in workplace, family, landlord & tenant and residential matters and has over 200 hours of mediation experience. She offers solo mediation and co-mediation services (co-mediated sessions are practiced with another IMI certified mediator).
Yasmin follows a classic facilitative style (non-advice giving and facilitating) with movement to transformative style (non-advice giving and based on transformation of parties relationships) where on-going relationships are important to parties. Styles are adaptive to individual case requirements as every case is unique. Yasmin recognizes the importance of establishing trust with each party in an impartial and non-judgemental way. She emphasizes the importance of a clear explanation of the mediation process, principles and styles to all involved, particularly for people experiencing mediation for the first time with respectful awareness of parties anxieties and concerns about participation.
